Greetings to all XM'ers and ex-XM'ers!

Since 2004 I commuted from the Philadelphia area to XM because I believed in the company. I believed satellite radio was cutting-edge technology and the future of broadcasting. There was an energy, a "vibe" in the building and it was truly exciting. I recommended the radios to friends, family and even strangers.

As economic pressures grew and terrestrial thinking began to permeate the platform the talk of a merger to save the company grew. Many favored it but, having seen others go through mergers I cautioned "be careful what you wish for." Well, for many, the worst fears have been recognized and XM's status has been reduced to "the low-power AM of an AM-FM combo" as a friend put it.

Now, I too am O-U-T as of 12/30, resigning because a new pay plan simply doesn't make the long drive worthwhile for me.

Years ago, if you got blown out, you went across the street, got hired and kept jammin'. Today, with the economy in trouble and terrestrial in satellite's financial boat, it seems there is no place left to go.

The time is now to think of yourself as a CONTENT PROVIDER. AM was replaced by FM, FM is losing audience to Satellite, i-pods, the Internet and mobile devices. Think HOW people get their music and talk is in flux right now. People who are talented will still be needed to provide the CONTENT no matter how it is delivered.

There are well-financed groups out there right now looking for the NEXT BIG THING. The ex-XM group has Executives, rainmakers, financial people, schmoozers, sales people, programmers and talent. There is the power to create exciting new things. Maybe even be an outsource programming supplier back to Sirius XM.

There is LinkedIn, Plaxo and others but, feel free to use this site as THE PLACE for ex-XM people to look for co-workers, re-connect, share ideas, alert about jobs, forge new partnerships, answer questions and offer advice.

Wherever you go, whatever you do, "break a leg"!
